I got this necklace as a gift for my wife. She had a 4 leaf clover gem necklace piece with a very small opening for the chain so it had to be a .50 mm . The original that came with the piece broke and she wears it all the time so she then used another chain with an extender. It kept rolling around and it was hard to get off. This chain fit it perfectly and didn't roll. The length was good and it was much cheaper than the ones we looked at in Kay's. It was quite hard to find a nice .5 mm in the stores with the right length that was under $100. Good buy. I cannot comment on the wear and tear factor however as she just received it this week.
